Greetings Fellow City Clubbers,

It's been a little while since I last wrote so there's quite a bit to catch up on. We rounded out last year with what I'm sure was the most awesome brunch this club has ever had. The folks at Tope La really out did themselves. Hats off to Jimmy Hebert and Chef Tommy for hitting a homerun with their first City Club function. I'm sure we'll be back!

The Law Enforcement Banquet was a star studded affair. Honored guest included Senator Clo Fontenot, Representative Diane Winston, D.A. Scott Perrilloux and giving the keynote speech was Colonel Whitehorn, Superintendent of the Louisiana State Police. Patti Giannoble did a fine job as the M.C., and as usual, the food was dynamite! This was the most well attended Law Enforcement Banquet in recent years. We had just under 80 people attending. I would like to send out a personal thank you to all who came out to support this worthy event. I'm already working on next year's keynote speaker. If all goes well (for him), we will be hosting Robert Blake of television's Baretta. Now this is a guy who knows a little something about Law Enforcement.

Next up is the second jewel in the Triple Crown of City Club Events. THE CABOOSE!! (The other two jewels being Lobster and the Fishing Tournament) This event will be held on TUESDAY FEBRUARY 15th at 6:30pm*. Cocktails will be served from 6:30pm - 7:30pm, dinner to be served thereafter. Because of our unique style of communicating with each other in public, Lloyd has chosen to only let us have the restaurant on Tuesdays when all of the God-fearing folks are at home. Wise move! We will also be presenting the new and improved Past Presidents Plaque at this function. We will be hosting all living past presidents for this dedication. The plaque will then find its new home at Tope La, and it will proudly hang among Chef Tommy's many awards.

Tentatively, we're looking at having a Magical Mystery Tour on February 24 th . For those of you who attended the last one, I'm sure you'll agree that this was a good time. Then coming in March, get ready for golf and Surf & Turf at Jacmel. Keep referring to the website at www.hammondcityclub.com for updated information for these and all other upcoming events. By the way, there's close to $200.00 in the pot right now. The only way to win is to show up on Thursdays. Are you up to the challenge?

Best wishes,

Johnny B.

* Times subject to change. However, we will follow the cocktail hour before dinner format.
