Enclosed with this letter you will find a copy of the proposed by-laws for the club. We are aware that the club has adopted by-laws in the past; however, we were unable to locate a copy. Furthermore, as the club has evolved over the years, the old by-laws would have needed to be amended. Through the efforts of your current board, spearheaded by Vaughn Seale, we have created a new set of by-laws to give the organization a formal structure by which to operate. We will vote to adopt the proposed by-laws at a general membership meeting on October 6 th , 2005 held at Tope'la 7:00pm. Also, enclosed is a ballot to vote on the adoption of by-laws by mail. Ballots mailed in will be voted by proxy at the above mentioned meeting. Please contact Vaughn if you have any questions regarding the proposed by-laws.
Invoices for the upcoming year are enclosed. Please make sure we receive your dues payment within 30 days. This will enable us to properly plan events so that we may make the most of our available resources.
Member information update forms are included with this letter, PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO UPDATE YOUR INFO. We are making progress on using email and the website to inform our members. We are working toward discontinuing paper mail outs to those members who have internet and email access. So, please make sure we have your updated information.
Your 2005-2006 president Bill "Challmation" Turnage, Head of Safety at Murphy Oil, has had more pressing matters to deal with due the hurricane. We ask that you be patient as we get off to a slow start. We anticipate another fun filled year with new events as well as your old favorites.
With highest regards,
City Club of Hammond Board
